Mural To Be Painted on W. Main St., Decatur, the week of September 25

September 8th, 2017

The third of three murals to be painted for the Decatur Mural Project in 2017 will be at the 200 block of W. Main St., Decatur, IL (east wall facing parking lot).  The mural is sponsored by Lockhart's Barbershop. Additional materials and equipment assistance are being provided by Lowe's and Sunbelt Rentals.

The DAAC Public Art Committee and building owner have selected a design by Central Illinois artist Nick Beery.  He will complete the mural during the week of September 25, 2017.

A Sullivan, Illinois resident, Beery is a freelance artist and owner/founder/creative director of BEERY METHOD. The design for the mural is made up of a series of light, medium, and dark shapes and based on a mathematical expression/pattern structure known as the golden spiral. The golden spiral is found in nature everywhere; from nautilus shells and leaves to the arms of galaxies.
