Learn about black artists throughout history from the Harlem Renaissance to the Black Arts Movement to Black Lives Matter.

From painters to writers, musicians, dancers and composers, these artists have shaped our country and our culture with their talent and activism.  Explore how they used and use art to express themselves and create social change, and then create your own art using their work as inspiration!
