International Arts Experience 2017 CHINA: Symbols & Motifs             A Chinese Art Journey

Experience the ancient and vibrant culture of CHINA through art and artifacts. The exhibit is being presented in collaboration with Dr. Yu (Ian) Wang and the US-China Cultural Arts Exchange Association in Rantoul, IL.

Both traditional and contemporary Chinese art incorporate symbols and motifs that tell a story about the culture, expressing how the Chinese value longevity, peace, prosperity and so much more.  This exhibit includes a wide variety of paintings, carvings, ceramics, textiles and other arts, on loan from private and museum collections.

Many thanks to Dr. Ian Wang for his assistance with curating.  Dr. Wang is President of the US-China Cultural Arts Exchange Association in Rantoul and curator at Spurlock Museum, University of Illinois.  
We sincerely appreciate Dr. Wang and others who have contributed their treasures to make this exhibit a reality.
